The Todra Gorge is Morocco’s great canyon — 300-metre limestone walls narrowing to a corridor barely 10 metres wide, threaded by the Todra river and palm gardens. Climbers know its hundreds of bolted routes; walkers follow the gorge road or palmery trails; photographers come for dawn light on the orange cliffs. Every Marrakech–Merzouga itinerary passes through, usually with a riverside lunch and a short canyon walk before the road to Merzouga.
