Valley of Roses
Morocco's most fragrant valley — blooms every April and May.
Each spring the Valley of Roses — centred on Kelaat M’Gouna between Skoura and the Dades — turns pink for the rose harvest, celebrated with the annual Rose Festival of music and rose-water distilling. Even outside harvest season the valley repays the detour: terraced rose fields, Berber villages, and the dramatic approach through the Dades switchbacks. Rose water, oil and soap from village cooperatives make genuinely local souvenirs.
