Tétouan

The little Jerusalem — Spain's whitest medina and Andalusian heritage.

Tétouan's UNESCO-listed medina is perhaps the best-preserved in Morocco. Its strong Andalusian influence — brought by Moorish refugees expelled from Spain in 1492 — gives it a distinctly European feel. The Royal Palace, the Museum of Moroccan Arts, and the lively craftsmen quarter are unmissable.
