Nkob is Morocco’s hidden gem — a remote village in the Jbel Saghro foothills known as the village of 45 kasbahs, where fortress-houses have stood for centuries against desert winds. Few tourists reach it, yet the landscape of volcanic rock, palm oases and ancient fortresses is extraordinary. It is a base for Jbel Saghro treks — a dramatic, crowd-free alternative to Toubkal — and for dark-sky stargazing far from city glow.
