Ouirgane is a small Berber village in the High Atlas foothills of Al Haouz Province, roughly 60 km (about a 1.5-hour drive) south of Marrakech on the road toward the Toubkal National Park and the Tizi n'Test pass. Set at around 1,000 m of elevation, it sits in a green valley of olive groves, walnut trees and terraced fields, with a small reservoir at its heart. Because it lies off the main tourist circuit, Ouirgane stays noticeably quieter than nearby Ourika or Imlil, which makes it a good choice for travellers who want mountain scenery without the crowds.
